Privacy Policy

DreamBug is built for children, so it is built to collect nothing. There are no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics watching your child read.
What we collect
Nothing. DreamBug does not collect, store, or transmit personal information about you or your child. We do not ask for a name, an email address, a date of birth, a photograph, or a location, and there is no way to create an account.
What stays on your device
The app saves a small amount of information on the device itself, so that it can work at all. This never leaves the device and we cannot see it:
- Child profiles, which hold only a first name or nickname and a chosen avatar, both typed by you
- Which page of a book was last open, and which books have been marked as favourites
- Your parent PIN and your library settings
Deleting the app removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.
No advertising and no tracking
DreamBug contains no advertising, no third-party advertising software, and no analytics or attribution software. We do not use the device advertising identifier, we do not build a profile of your child, and we do not track anyone across apps or websites.
No links out of the app
A child using DreamBug cannot reach the web, a store, social media, or any other app. Purchasing and settings are placed behind a parent PIN.
Subscriptions and payment
If you subscribe, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through your Apple account. We never see or receive your payment details. To manage or cancel a subscription, use Settings on your device, under your Apple account.
To know whether a subscription is active, the app may use a subscription management service, RevenueCat, Inc. That service receives a randomly generated identifier created on the device and the status of the subscription. It receives no information about your child, and the identifier is not linked to a real person.
Children's privacy
DreamBug is intended for use by children with their families. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children. This is our approach to the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the United Kingdom Age Appropriate Design Code, and the GDPR provisions covering children.
Apple's parental gate is a barrier, not consent. We do not treat it as permission to collect anything, because we do not collect anything.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to show you, correct, export, or delete on request. The information on your device is under your control and is removed with the app.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date above. If a future version of the app ever collects anything, we will say so here clearly and in the app before it happens.
